Wrestling With The Slow Dance Part II
March 10, 2018
This is pretty heavy stuff but so is life!

As most of you know this web page is a platform for Pasco High Wrestling, Wrestling in general and my personal ramblings. Hopefully sometimes they are meaningfull to some of you.

I published this poem a while back and I felt it was something that woould be meaningful to a lot of people.

Maybe I am wrong and I hope that I am not but I have not received one response to this article. No problem, I write and I publish things that I believe are important. To some people they may be and to others maybe not.

Personally I don't care if you respond or not, I do care if you care or not.

Do you get the difference?
Write me , respond , or not I don't care, I am going to do my best to say what needs to be said whether anyone likes it or not.

There are so many sad stories out there like this one, but............. with hope attached and that is important, without hope , life is surely difficult. What has this got to do with wrestling , EVERYTHING...............

Some of you may not care and that is what I am seeing in the classroom. Do you know where that comes from........Us, Parents, Teachers, Administrators, Judges, Attorneys, Doctors, and on. We don't care enough, and many of us don't want to work hard enough to get these kids on the right track... If WE did they would be. If you think I am pulling your chain, watch. I guarantee I can make a difference and I will. Until the next dance................. Take it SLOW but make it count! "grappling for excellence"

Please read the poem below!

I found this poem today and really felt I should share it. I think sometimes that we all maybe need to think about the DANCE.

Slow Dance

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital. It was sent by a medical doctor.

Have you ever watched kids On a merry-go-round? Or listened to the rain Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight? Or gazed at the sun into the fading night? You better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.

Do you run through each day On the fly? When you ask How are you? Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done Do you lie in your bed With the next hundred chores Running through your head?

You'd better slow down Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.

Ever told your child, We'll do it tomorrow? And in your haste, Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die Cause you never had time To call and say,"hi"

You'd better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere You miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.

Life is not a race. Do take it slower Hear the music Before the song is over.

Thanks to Mary Steen for sharing this!
Thanks Mary!
